The Beacon Drive-in: A Must-Visit Destination for Savory Burgers and Seafood in Spartanburg

My husband and I went here with our baby and the staff was SO incredibly kind. They came up to my son and played with him as we waited for our food to be made. The kindness and southern hospitality made the meal even better. The food was delicious, it’s greasy comfort food! Not sure one can eat it every day but it’s definitely a treat.

The food was what you want and expect. Got the pimento burger all the way and it was big, juicy and well seasoned. My wife had the fried chicken and she loved it. Definitely would recommend only getting one meal with the “a plenty” fries and onion rings. One plate can feed an army. We’ll be back!

After all these years I still love the Beacon. The staff are down to earth, the restaurant it self doesn't make you feel out of place. Yes, it will be crowded and loud so if you social anxiety let someone order for you and go find a seat. The food is amazing, huge portions with of course their famous tea! The only minus is all the grease. If you've been there you know that's the norm, but if you haven't get ready. The kids will be happy, they serve desserts and give these adorable paper hats, and if you want you can purchase them a souvenir.

If you’re anywhere near Spartanburg, you have to stop by The Beacon! The food was absolutely amazing — everything was fresh, flavorful, and definitely lived up to the hype. One of the coolest parts of the experience was the guy calling out the orders. He was so nice and super helpful, taking the time to explain how to order since it was our first time there. That kind of friendliness really makes a place stand out. Great food, great atmosphere, and great people. We will definitely be back!

We found this by accident searching google! This place will not disappoint. Great food, atmosphere is so friendly, very helpful group of employees. For the folks that are stating that the food is greasy, what do you expect when the onion rings and fries are deep fried. Everything was absolutely delicious.

Always a great experience at Beacon Drive In. They provided chicken tenders for an event at our school the past couple years & very appreciative of the quality of the food and great customer service!

A long overdue review. Life happened. The best fried food in the US. The Beacon still uses fat to fry their food. That taste cannot be beat. It's an old time restaurant. The staff makes everyone feel like a local, but the vast majority of the customers are locals since it's a bit off the beaten path. The portions are HUGE! Eating here must be what it's like in heaven. I had the hamburger steak and it was wonderful. However, for the first time I had their baked beans and they are the best I've ever eaten in my 76 years. I mean, WOW! The onion rings BURST with flavor. It's a good thing The Beacon is 3,000 miles away or I'd weigh 900 lbs. Oh, the prices? The best value of any restaurant I've visited in years.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolute Spartanburg legend. Had lunch today at The Beacon Drive-In, and wow—what an experience. This place is pure old-school Americana in the best possible way. Loud, fast, unapologetic, and iconic. I ordered the BLT A-Plenty, and they do not mess around. Crispy bacon, stacked high, and the sides? An insane abundance of fries and onion rings. Seriously—bring an appetite. Everything was hot, fresh, and flat-out delicious. If you’ve never been, you need to go. And if you have been? You already know. Spartanburg doesn’t get more classic than this.
